Hopefully I can attach these pics so you can see a couple also. Sadly the holster is gone but I doubt I would leave an old war gun in a holster. All the wear, numbers, grips, and proof marks are exactly the same from the auction info. The guy who is selling it to me sent me all the paperwork and pictures from when he bought it and new pictures taken this week. It was speculated that it was a GI take home but due to the lack of paperwork and serial numbers on other parts it is all speculated. This 1911a1 sold at auction back in 2012 and came with a leather WWII torso holster, maybe a tanker holster. If I am getting anything wrong please let me know. This 1911a1 based on serial numbers was made before the shut down of the factory in I think May 1943 and then re-opening with changing of management and the larger NO before serial numbers with no line under it and the changing of the slides to N.Y. It is my understanding that the Remington Rand slide did not have serial numbers on them (but I am not sure). Grips are the plastic GI issue with no reinforcement ring around the screws. According to everything I have read so far most of the small parts where made by other companies and the bluing will not match the frame and slide. All the information from the seller and from his records from buying it at auction note that the frame and slide have matching bluing (dulite) and look the same shade and have the same amount of wear. Main spring is arched with checkering, slide stop and saftey is checkered, and hammer has checkering. Barrel has P and HS (High Standard) stamp on link area and is blued with some wear from what appears to be from use/firing. The bluing on the 1911a1 has some what looks like holster wear and some wear from shooting. Rear under the slide serrations has the cannon barrel proof mark though a little light of a stamp. Has P proof next to mag release and FJA under slide stop. The serial number has the No with the line under the little o. This one has holster wear on the dulite finish and based on the serial number was made in Jan or Feb 1943 though there is not a lot more on this specific gun. I have been doing some research on this one and it seems like it has all the right parts to be original but I doubt it can be proved. I am saving to buy a Remington Rand 1911A1.
